Description
The ikat sarees woven in Telangana are more popularly known as Pochampally after the village which is more well known. A few other villages also weave ikat. These sarees are tied and dyed in beautiful geometrical patterns before weaving. It requires a skill and precision which only master dyers can achieve. Pochampally sarees received GI tag in 2005.
This black base cotton single ikat saree has motifs in white and yellow with a maroon border that is accented with golden yellow selvedge. The maroon pallu with white squares adds drama to the saree. Comes with a maroon blouse piece.
