Ajrakh Mul Cotton

Description

Ajrakh block printing uses complex geometrical motifs dyed in indigo, madder, black, and white. The shapes and motifs of Ajrakh echo the architectural forms of Islamic architecture?s intricate jali windows and trefoil arches. The printing is done by families in Kutch and Barmer and the technique has been handed down for generations. What was once a printed cloth worn primarily by men, has today found various new avatars. This mul cotton saree has been dyed in indigo and comes with a plain blouse piece with printed border.
