Description
Maheshwar on the banks of Narmada is home to one of the finest woven silk and cotton sarees of India. Encouraged and patronised by the erstwhile Queen, Ahilya Bai Holkar, Maheshwar became a prominent weaving centre in the 18th century. Today, the revival of Maheshwari is one of the more successful stories of the Indian handloom industry. Light weight, soft and with a glossy finish, these sarees are all weather and all purpose. This silk cotton handwoven saree in teal has golden zari buti all over, maroon traditional border and pallu with golden butas.
