Description
The Siddipet Gollabama sarees are globally famous, and have the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. These sarees are unique for their woven doll motifs. The motifs are said to have been inspired by the charm of the women of the golla (cattle-rearing) community – dressed in their brightly hued skirts and veils carrying pots of milk and curd. Typically, three motifs are used – Gollabama, Batukamma and Kolatam. These sarees are very soft and lightweight. This grey body Gollabama saree has a dark brown border with the dolls woven all through and woven pallu with the Gollabamas.
