Description
The name ‘Chikan’ comes from the Persian word ‘Chakin’ or ‘Chikeen’ meaning a cloth full of needlework. Chikan started as a white-on-white (or whitework) embroidery. White thread is embroidered on pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments. Murri refers to knots that are in the shape of rice grains. These are sometimes made using thicker thread so as to get proper knots. This beautiful purple cotton saree has murri work flowers embroidered all over the saree with floral motifs in pallu. Comes with a plain blouse piece.
